Looking Ahead - Upcoming Event for 2026

Roosevelt School 7 will participate in a schoolwide Read-a-thon in order to promote daily reading and help raise money for author's day and reading rewards. The Read-a-thon will be during the month of March and will be a virtual event.  Students will receive a Read-a-thon handout and registration information on March 2nd.  Teachers will also receive a signup form, so they can monitor students' reading goals and how many minutes they are reading daily.  Please encourage ALL students to register and get at least one donation.  Thank you for your support!

Mrs. Luciano’s First Graders Are EmPowered!
Mrs. Luciano’s first grade class is participating in the EmPowered Schools Program through PSE&G! Our young learners are discovering what energy is, where it comes from, and why it’s important to use it wisely. As part of the program, we’re encouraging all families to take the Home Energy Pledge, a fun and easy way to learn how to make your home more energy efficient and comfortable.

The school that collects the most Home Energy Pledges by February 16th will win a school-wide pizza party! Let’s work together to save energy, help our planet, and bring home that pizza prize! 🍕🌎💡

We are proud to recognize our students who exemplified the pillar of Respect this November. These Citizens of the Month showed kindness, listened carefully, treated others and school property with care, and helped make our school a safe, welcoming place for everyone. You are shining examples of the 6 Pillars of Character. Keep leading by example, our school is better because of you!

🌼 School Beautification in Full Bloom at School No. 7! 🌼

On Friday, October 24th, Mr. Vaccaro’s MD18-21 class joined forces with Ms. Zagorski’s fourth graders at Theodore Roosevelt School No. 7 for a heartwarming gardening project. Together, they planted vibrant mums and tucked daffodil and tulip bulbs into the soil, bringing instant fall color and setting the stage for a cheerful spring bloom.

The MD18-21 students took charge of prepping and planting the mums across the garden beds, while the fourth graders carefully placed each bulb with care and excitement. Their teamwork and dedication truly brightened the school grounds!

A big thank you to Officer Stewart for providing the tools and support that helped make this project a blooming success! 🌷🌞

🧥 Take One Leave One Coat Drive

1

We’re proud to share that our school is once again participating in the Take One Leave One initiative!

This is a simple and meaningful way to support our community during the colder months. A clothing rack will be placed outside the school during school hours, offering free winter coats to anyone who needs one. Additionally, a box will be added for hats and gloves.
If you have a gently used coat to donate, we’d love for you to add it to the rack!

How it works:
Take One if you need a coat.
Leave One if you have a coat to give.

School No. 7's Safety Patrols

🛡️ Grade 5 Safety Patrols: Leading with Responsibility!
Our Grade 5 Safety Patrols are student leaders who help keep our school safe and welcoming. These dedicated volunteers assist with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, model respectful behavior, and support younger students in following school rules. By serving as role models, they build confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of community. We’re proud of their commitment to making our school a better place every day!

Attendance Matters!

Being at school every day is important for your child’s success. Regular attendance helps students build strong skills, stay connected with classmates, and make the most of their learning opportunities.

Please make sure your child arrives on time and attends school every day unless they are truly ill. Together, we can help every student reach their full potential!

During Respect Week, our students helped spread kindness and positivity by writing cheerful messages with sidewalk chalk around the school. These colorful notes might say things like “Be kind,” “You are awesome,” or “Respect everyone.” It’s a fun and creative way for children to celebrate respect, friendship, and caring for others while brightening up our school grounds for everyone to enjoy!
